Sno Shack Inc. is committed to providing our customers with all the training necessary to successfully run a shaved ice business. Last winter, we began offering special, personal, 2-day training sessions that cover every aspect of starting and running a shaved ice business. The sessions are held at Sno Shack headquarters in Rexburg, Idaho. The course dates for this season (2007-2008) are listed to the right.

Learn from real-life experience

Jared Sommer, Sno Shack's president, will be leading each training session. Attendees will benefit from his 16 years of experience in the shaved ice business. From marketing to maintenance, Jared and the Sno Shack team will present a simple, proven system for maximizing your profits and staying sane while doing so.

Hands-on equipment training

At Shaved Ice University, attendees will receive detailed instruction on how to operate and repair Sno Shack shavers and other equipment. All the standard inventory and equipment will be explained and demonstrated. Attendees will have opportunities to actually shave ice, mix sugar water, prepare flavors, and more.

Personalized attention

Attendees may be complete novices or experienced shaved ice gurus.  The Sno Shack team is prepared to tailor the course material to benefit attendees at all experience levels.  During the sessions, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and receive individual attention from the instructors.

Tuition for the two-day course is $1000, which allows two immediate family members to to attend (husband/wife, parent/child).

Current special: We are offering a 50% tuition discount ($500) for attendees who decide to purchase a Sno Shack building for the 2008 shaved ice season. The discount will be taken off the price of the building at the time of purchase.

Attendees are responsible their own transportation and lodging. Here are our recommendations for your travel to Rexburg.

Air Travel

Fly into Salt Lake City - The nearest international airport is in Salt Lake City. Rexburg is a 4-hour drive north of Salt Lake.

Fly into Idaho Falls - The nearest regional (smaller) airport is in Idaho Falls. Rexburg is only 30 minutes north of Idaho Falls.

Ground Travel

From Salt Lake - We recommend Salt Lake Express, a van commuter express route that makes 9 runs a day from Salt Lake airport to Rexburg, ID. Visit their web site at http://saltlakeexpress.com.

From Idaho Falls - Salt Lake Express can make special stops at the Idaho Falls airport if requested. Alternatively, rental cars are available at the airport as well as basic taxi service.
